Need a hand with Bitez?
Bitez is a one-person app — that means support is a person, not a ticketing system. Email me directly and you'll usually hear back within 48 hours, often the same day. Below are answers to the questions that come up most often.
Frequently asked
The app keeps recommending the same restaurant. How do I get a different one?
Tap Skip on the pick screen. Bitez remembers what it's shown you and bias-pushes those down the list on the next pick. If you keep getting the same place across cold launches, open Settings → Reset everything and re-onboard — your taste history resets and the recommendation field opens back up.
I picked $$$$ but the app showed me a $$ place. Is it broken?
No — that's deliberate. When a cheaper place beats every $$$$ option in your area on rating, distance, and your own history, Bitez surfaces it and tells you why on the pick card. Look for the reasoning row labeled BUDGET on the screen. If you want stricter budget enforcement, open Settings and re-save your budget — that nudges the scorer to weigh price tier more heavily.
Bitez isn't finding any restaurants near me.
Three things to check:
1. Location permission: iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Location Services → Bitez — set to "While Using the App".
2. City field: if location is disabled, open Settings inside the app and enter a city or ZIP manually.
3. Distance preference: if you're set to "Walk" in a low-density area, switch to "Wider".
If none of those help, you might be in a food desert — the app surfaces an Apple Maps fallback button on the empty state so you can still find delivery options.
The recommendation reasoning is wrong / weird / hallucinated.
Bitez's reasoning rows are sourced from real signals (Google ratings, distance, weather, your stated preferences). When the on-device AI writes the friend-voice line at the top, it's allowed to rephrase those signals but not to invent new ones — a hallucination guard rejects AI output that doesn't anchor to a real fact. If you see something weird, screenshot it and email me — it's a real bug to fix.
How do I delete all my data?
Open the app, tap Settings, scroll to the bottom, tap Reset everything. That wipes your profile, your taste history, the restaurant cache, and any AI-related flags. The next launch is exactly like a fresh install.
If you'd rather just uninstall: long-press the app icon → Remove App → Delete App. iOS removes all app data with the app.
Does Bitez work offline?
Partially. If you've used the app recently, Bitez caches the restaurant pool and can show you a pick from cache without an internet connection. An "Offline" banner appears so you know the data isn't fresh. New searches (different cuisine, different city) require a connection because they need a fresh Google Places call.
Why does the app sometimes say "Set your city for live picks"?
You're seeing demo data because Bitez either couldn't get your location or doesn't have a manually entered city yet. Tap the banner → it opens Settings. Enter a city or ZIP, or tap "Use my current location" and grant the permission. Live picks come back on the next refresh.
I want to add a feature / report a bug.
Email me at team.duocraft@gmail.com with a screenshot if you have one. Subject line "Bitez feature" or "Bitez bug" — I read every one. The features that get built are usually the ones that come from real users, not from the roadmap.
What does the app do with my location?
It sends your approximate coordinate to Google Places to look up restaurants near you, and to Apple WeatherKit to check whether a severe-weather alert is active in your area. That's it. No location is stored on any server Bitez controls — there is no Bitez server. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.
What devices does Bitez work on?
iPhone running iOS 17 or later. The on-device AI features (the friend-voice line, free-text dish parsing) require iOS 26 and an Apple Intelligence-capable iPhone. On older devices, Bitez falls back to template-based reasoning automatically — every fact is still sourced and visible, the writing is just less warm.
Privacy
Bitez is on-device. No account, no analytics, no ads, no tracking. The full Privacy Policy explains exactly what data exists, where it lives, and what gets sent off the phone (very little).
Still stuck?
Write to team.duocraft@gmail.com. Include your iPhone model, your iOS version, and a screenshot if you can — that triples the speed of the answer.
